How to Keep Your Tin Shed Cool in Delhi's Extreme Summer Heat

A tin shed in Delhi NCR can reach 60°C inside during summer without proper insulation. This guide shows you exactly how to reduce shed temperature by 10–15°C — using proven methods that work in our climate.

Ask anyone with a tin shed in Delhi, Noida, or Gurgaon — summer is brutal. Temperatures outside hit 45°C, but inside an uninsulated tin shed, it can feel like 55–60°C. Workers cannot function, goods get damaged, and machines overheat.

Method 2: Turbo Ventilators (Zero Electricity)

Turbo ventilators are wind-powered rotating exhaust units installed on the roof ridge. As wind turns the blades, they create low pressure inside and pull hot air out — continuously, without any electricity.

Method 3: Ridge Vents

A continuous ridge vent (opening along the peak of the roof) allows hot air to escape naturally as it rises. This is a passive ventilation method that works well combined with low inlet ventilation (side windows or open sides).

Method 4: Side Wall Ventilation

For agricultural sheds and workshops, open side walls with GI wire mesh (rather than full GI sheet cladding) provide excellent cross-ventilation. This is the most effective method for poultry sheds — but not suitable for dust-sensitive manufacturing.
